It is with great delight that I can announce that we are closing in on getting the Esoteric "Metamorphogenesis" album released on vinyl.
This week saw Greg Chandler complete a wonderful re-mix of the album in its entirety - along with mastering for vinyl.
A task that was lengthy, time-consuming and a genuine labour of love at Priory Recording Studios. But, the end result is the beloved "Metamorphogenesis" with a new and enhanced sound.
It's going to be an awesome vinyl 2LP release - which should go to press soon.

See him now… The path is narrow and the flesh is weak. What heart, what spirit, what silent will shapes the beast, that we do not know. But see him battle those bellowing winds of some ancient chaos. Helpless and depraved, slowly, painfully exhausting the space of note and texture and sound and rhythm amidst a careless vortex of multitudes beyond the span of his reason. Approaching timidly at first, now a bit braver, though a little less sure but hungry. Always hungry, for what obscure Truth only he knows. Only he knows.
Bitter drops which percolate then trickle and then gush until that unforgiving wave breaks upon his body and rolls back leaving only more ecstasy, and more pain, and more despair. Alas!, the hand which brings down the hammer upon the nail and the broken hand lain against the wood are one and the same, this much he felt yet still his mind stirred:
Is there truly a voice to speak with against this silence?
Is there an ear, be it man or God, to grant us Justice?
Might it be that the way shown by those before us not have been found by a mind who had already seen?
Such hollow things are words when one is shattered like this, their verisimilitude a mere mockery…
So be it! Let others pray to iridescent sigils, not we, not today. Foul are they and not of our own. That foolish flame shall flicker for the meek but not for us. Not tonight. Let it be known that the fall is our fortune, not the summit.
And now he, the fallen, gathers his wits and stands upon the dirt. Bloodied wrists mark the fruit of his toil. And it was barely this: to replace the banality of the day with the horror of the void, the illusion of something with the certitude of nothing, the false unity of one for the voice of none.

I'm pleased to finally get myself organised and put together a re-issue of Esoteric's "The Pernicious Enigma" - a very special album.
Originally released in 1997, it has since been sold out for many years.
However, this is more than just a re-issue - it finally shows the album in a way we were never able to in 1997.
This version features the re-mixed and re-mastered audio by Greg Chandler in 2016, creating the sound he originally envisaged for the album. The artwork has been painstakingly renovated by Mauro Berchi / Eibon Recs for this beautiful 24 page digibook 2CD version. In a limited pressing.
Due for release in the last week of August 2018.

Most possibly a new name to most.....
PANDO are an entity emanating from West Massachussetts in the US of A.
I am so-o-o-o excited to be working with these individuals on the physical release of their album "Hiraeth" - Pando don't subscribe to any defined or constraining perceptions of genre - they just do what they do.
However, what they do sounds incredible - it is an epiphany to these ears. It moulds together rhythmical structures, mellow noise, samples and recorded oddities - into an amalgamation of lush perfection. There are no comparisons to make - but I can catch fleeting glimpses of Portishead, Morthound, Future Sound of London, The Doors and submerging into ambient noise.....
As Pando themseves re-iterate:
....sonically, hiraeth contains various field recordings, experiments, samples, and sound manipulations including a collection of photography, conversations, and artwork gathered by pando throughout the years and digitally rendered into raw audio data in the form of noise. voicemails and audio recordings of memories and experiences were obtained from friends and family through the use of social media and phone calls.

Estrangement collaboration

After numerous years friendship and musical discussion - I am very pleased to have the honour of Australian band "Estrangement" agreeing to work with AD on their debut full length album.
Following some critically acclaimed releases to date - including a demo, an EP and a split album, plus offering a track on the recent My Dying Bride tribute release - Estrangement are in the process of completing the writing of their new material and now plan to record during the second half of this year.
Expect some groundbreaking doom - with classical musicians juxtaposing their creativity with doom atmospheres and painfully emotive music.
Estrangement are one of the most exciting "new" bands in the doom scene - and this album will show you why.

Misanthropic Existence

Hailing from the UK's midlands, Misanthropic Existence were forged in the dying days of 2011, carved from the heart of Rigor Mortal's corpse, the band set upon it's craft very quickly to create the most misanthropic, apocalyptic, nihilistic and violent breed of extreme metal it could.
Following line-up changes to what is a now fully fledged war-machine. Misanthropic Existence put together various EP's, demo's and live rituals.
The band has recieved much praise and notoriety for it's craft within the depths of the underground. The bands music is ferocious, intense, very pissed off and hateful, with a focus on a raw and unedited live sound, using human imperfections rather deliberately through choice and design.
"DEATH SHALL BE SERVED" is the bands latest and debut full length, running over an hour in length it is a challenge of endurance to every listener as it rarely ever dips from full on assault from start to finish. It is currently being pressed onto CD digipack for a planned February 2018 release.

This live album is a special project that I'm proud to be part of....
“Piove Sangue” is a very special album, as it celebrates the twenty-year anniversary of the extreme metal pioneers Hortus Animae, twenty years since the release of their first demo tape "An Abode for Spirit and Flesh" in 1998. This live LP was recorded at Banská Bystrica (Slovakia), on the last date of the Total Metal Over Europe Tour Pt. 2, which the band held with legendary German thrashers Necronomicon, whose vocalist appeared on stage with Hortus Animae for a raging version of Slayer’s “Raining Blood” (from which the album also takes its title, in Italian). This live album highlights a tight band in great musical shape; it is an excellent overview of the band's history and what you can expect when you see them live.

Lashblood comprise some of the great protagonists of the extreme Russian underground scene - including acts such as Goatpsalm, Deathmoor, SS-18, Misanthropic Art etc.... I am very proud to have the opportunity to be working with the legendary MORDOR, to work on the re-issue of their "Csejthe" + "Odes" releases.
Unavailable for many years now - and somewhat lost into underground obscurity. It is undeniable that Mordor were before their time in their musical vision, extremity and dark obscurity.
These albums from this Swiss act formed an important platform in my understanding, admiration and respect for extreme music - along with their further explorations with Gora, The Way Of Nihilism etc.... Setting standards and opening genres within extreme doom and noise that have been pursued and elaborated further ever since.
These re-issues have already encountered numerous delays and problems in obtaining suitable audio - but both myself and Mordor are totally committed to this release happening and a worthy re-issue happening..... whenever that might be. Look out for more details.

Work is progressing well with the next Esoteric vinyl.....Pernicious Enigma 3LP.
Greg has recently been re-mixing and re-mastering the album - having never been 100% satisfied with the original mix back in 1997. So, fans of the album will notice a considerable difference with the original mix.
The artwork is looking fantastic - and, as usual, you can expect a heavy duty, beautiful triple gatefold release - with a deep warm killer sound.
This is one of my favourite albums ever - and I will ensure it gets the release it deserves!!!

A lot has happened with the vinyl version of Esoteric's superb album 'The Maniacal Vale'.
More than 16 months since the original submission of the album to press - we are finally at a stage where the album should be ready soon. There have been many problems and delays with getting Esoteric's immense sound on this album being transposed suitably to vinyl. We have now done the vinyl mastering ourselves to get a top-notch sound - and teamed up with a pressing plant who understand what the release should sound like - and a team who appreciate that vinyl should sound perfect!!
After all the problems we have encountered over the years, I no longer care to give release dates - but I am very sure that this 3LP album will be released before the end of 2013.
We are really pleased with the sound on the vinyl and you can expect a vinyl that you will be proud to have in your collection!!

recording this material live gave the material a very organic and fluid feel - deep and considered compositions ensure these two tracks keep the listener on edge throughout....

Work is ongoing with the 3-LP vinyl version of "The Pernicious Enigma" - currently the artwork is receiving a layout overhaul by Mauro Berchi, along with the album being totally re-mixed and re-mastered by Greg Chandler. Never being completely happy with the eventual sound of the original release - the vinyl version gives an opportunity to revisit and amend.
