The band "Zatemno" (which means "Before the Dawn" in Russian) was formed in 2011 in the city of Sergiev Posad.

Original line-up:
st.Pstr - vocals, guitar, accordion, drums (Cage of Creation, VTTA, ex-Rotting Heaven);
VVurd - rhythm guitar, backing vocals (Cage of Creation, ex-VTTA, ex-Rotting Heaven);
Japetus - bass guitar (VTTA);

The debut mini-album "Into Ashes" was composed during the years 2011 to 2013, then recorded took place between 2013 to 2015 - then finally released in 2016 through Death Knell Prod in digipack cd format and limited to 100 copies. Death Knell Productions are a small underground label operated by the band themselves.
The lyrics for "Into Ashes" were inspired by obscurantism in the so-called "Russian world" and through the perversity of the human soul.
The music can loosely be described as experimental avantgarde black metal.

After the debut release, rhythm guitarist VVurd left the project to concentrate on other deeds and Zatemno continue to work on a new album as a duo.
A full-length album was composed and recorded during 2016-2018 and is entitled "In the noose". The band will co-operate with Aesthetic Death to release this album in the first half of 2019.
Musically the album continues the direction of band's previous work, but expanding and exploring it's experimental side even further. The structure and conception is changing.
Meanwhile, the lyrics highlight the despair and alienation of the human mind through the prism of nightly natural forces and suicidal deeds. Really delving into the mental conflict that is harnessed to create such music.
